My Dog Needs New Ears.

13 02 2010

Lyrics from Goldfrapp’s Utopia:

It’s a strange day
No colours or shapes
No sound in my head
I forget who I am
When I’m with you
There’s no reason
There’s no sense
I’m not supposed to feel
I forget who I am
I forget
Fascist baby
Utopia, utopia
My dog needs new ears
Make his eyes see forever
Make him live like me
Again and again
I’m wired to the world
That’s how I know everything
I’m super brain
That’s how they made me

The lyrics are so abstract and become more surreal as the song progresses. There’s an intensely sexual undercurrent to the song.

I used this piece of music in final major project at college where I created a perfume advert; I must dig it out sometime.

Anyway, this is my recommendation for the day. Thoughts?

Goldfrapp – Rocket

13 02 2010

The original electro queen – Alison Goldfrapp takes us on a rocket ride.

5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Blast Off!

What do you make of it? It’s sort of Wham throwback.

Here is some of the album artwork. A beautiful diffusion of colour, she’s got a little of the Little Boots about her here.

I can’t wait until she is doing phoners. I will not relent until I have my Goldfrapp interview.

For more Goldfrapp news check out their blog here.
